The final rankings of the year for college basketball are in and Villanova is your new No. 1 in the nation. Conference tournaments always tend to shake up these final polls and they certainly did this week. Six top-10 teams took losses in their respective tournaments, along with Duke and Arizona making huge leaps.
Last week’s top team, Kansas, was upset early by TCU in the Big 12 quarterfinals, dropping them now to behind Gonzaga. The change in the polls didn’t completely alter the NCAA Tournament seedings, as UNC still captured a one seed, despite losing to Duke in the ACC semifinals.
Arizona jumped all the way to No. 4 this week, but it wasn’t enough for the Wildcats to snag the last one seed in the Big Dance. Duke went all the way from 14 up to No. 7 after plowing their way to conference title. They were even considered for a one seed after this weekend, which is remarkable because the Blue Devils were being considered a five seed just a few weeks ago.
With that here is the Final AP Top 25 poll of this college basketball season.
