The Aggies are out for revenge in this championship showdown against the Anteaters. Last week, UC Irvine completely decimated UC Davis. The Anteaters annihilated those poor Aggies, with a score of 79-39. Now, both teams meet again in the championship game of the 2017 Big West Tournament.
The UC Irvine Anteaters are coming into this contest extremely strong. They have won seven out of their last eight games, including a five-game winning streak. The Anteaters have won 21 games this season, with only 13 defeats behind them. This team was knocked out of the Big West Tournament last year by the Long Beach State 49ers. On Friday night, UC Irvine gained a measure of retribution when they eliminated Long Beach State, with a score of 62-57.
UC Davis is hoping to be the roadblock that stops those intense Anteaters from winning the tournament. The Aggies have never won the Big West Tournament. They have also never earned their spot in the huge NCAA tournament. If the Aggies can win this game against the Anteaters, they will automatically punch their ticket for Madness.
