Chance The Rapper’s Acceptance Speech Is Everything That’s Good About Music

I’ve been saying it for a while now, it’s Chance’s world and we’re just living in it. In case you needed further proof of that, check the tape from Sunday night, where Chance won three Grammy awards, his first ever, for best new artist, best rap album, and best rap performance.

In classic Chance fashion, his acceptance speech was honest, spiritual, and humble:

“Glory be to God. I claim this victory in the name of the Lord,” Chance said in accepting his award for best new artist. “I want to thank God for my mother and my father, who supported me since I was young, for Kirsten, for Kensli, for all of Chicago, and I want to thank God for putting amazing people in my life.”
