If you love college basketball, you’re going to want to chug a Red Bull this evening. Because at 10:00 p.m. ET, the Oregon Ducks will travel to Pauley Pavilion to take on the UCLA Bruins in a Pac-12 showdown. This game has an interesting clash of styles, as UCLA’s high-powered offense will meet Oregon’s stifling defense. The Bruins boast the country’s second best offense with a scoring average of 92.9 points, while the Ducks limit their opposition to just 63.5 points per game (23rd in the NCAA).
The #5 ranked Ducks (21-3, 10-1 Pac-12) had a 17-game winning streak snapped on the road against Colorado on January 29, but they’ve bounced back nicely with two straight wins. Their most recent victory was especially impressive, as they took #5 Arizona to the woodshed with an 85-58 thrashing.
The #10 ranked Bruins (21-3, 8-3 Pac-12) have had a roller coaster couple of weeks. Their last four games have unfolded like this: 96-85 L vs. #14 Arizona, 84-76 L at USC, 95-79 W at WSU, and 107-66 W at Washington.
UCLA will look to add to their two-game winning streak by avenging a devastating loss to Oregon earlier in the season. On December 29, 2016, the Bruins lost on the road to Oregon 89-87 after Dillon Brooks hit a three-pointer at the buzzer.
