Real Madrid, the defending champions, will host Borussia Dortmund during the Champions League on Wednesday in what is probably going to be the best game of the final group stage matchday. While both clubs have guaranteed their passage into the knockout stages already, they’re still vying for the top spot in the group.
Real Madrid will be without Gareth Bale, though they could be bolstered by the return of Álvaro Morata and Toni Kroos back following injury spells. Real haven’t lost a competitive match since they faced Wolfsburg in the quarterfinals of last season’s Champions League.
For Dortmund, their starting goalkeeper Roman Bürki is unavailable after undergoing hand surgery. The last time Dortmund visited the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, was during the quarterfinals of the Champions League in 2014, in which they suffered a 3-0 defeat.
