Even The Cast Of ‘Friends’ Couldn’t Stand The Theme Song

Friends is one of the most iconic American sitcoms of all time, but simultaneously one of the most annoying. Ross? Annoying. Chandler? Funny, but one of his character’s best traits was literally being annoying. Phoebe? God, don’t get me started on Phoebe. The intro? Annoying. The opening theme song? The worst. And before you think I’m just being a hater, slow your f*cking roll, because Jennifer Aniston agrees with me

Aniston, while out promoting her comedy Office Christmas Party, was asked about the theme song and she more or less admitted the cast did it because the check cleared:

No one was really a big fan of that theme song. We felt it was a little—I don’t know. Dancing in a pond? A fountain felt sort of odd. We did it because we were told to.

Yet another reason to love Jen Aniston (other than the fact that she’s hilarious, beautiful, and ages like a fine wine): she tells it like it is.
