After months and months of unrelenting boredom, college football is finally nearing its return. The lazy Saturdays spent aimlessly flipping back and forth between baseball games and the 100th viewing of Forrest Gump on TBS are almost behind us. So long to the dog days of summer, and hello to tailgates stocked to the brim with food, booze, and babes.
The 2015 NCAA football season ended with #2 Alabama beating #1 Clemson 45-40 in the National Championship. It was the second year of the four-team playoff format, and it’s safe to say that it’s been the greatest innovation in the college game since the triple option.
The 2016 season will kick off with the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors taking on the University of California – Berkeley Golden Bears. It may not be the sexiest matchup, but similar to my bar approach at 1:45 a.m., I’ll gladly take anything I can get.
