I genuinely wonder how some people are so chill with being so sh*tty. I am nottttt perfect. I’ve had my fair share of questionable decisions throughout my life. I’m sure you have too. But stuff like this – the story of a man screwing his grandparents out of their 50 year home – can only be done by genuinely no-good, morally incorrect, people.
Helen and Hank Kawecki have lived in their Thousand Oaks, California home for 56 years. And they are about to be evicted.
According to Fox News, Doug Emerson, one of the Kawecki’s neighbors, noticed that when Hank and Helen were out on Sundays with their grandson, realtors would show the house to potential buyers. Emerson did some investigating and discovered that the grandson was selling the house without their knowledge.
Helen Kawecki, who looks and acts like your classic adorable grandmother, said:
I asked him outright, is my house for sale. He said, “no, no, don’t worry about it.” But it was for sale.”
But not only was the house on the market, but all the equity was gone as well. According to Emerson, the neighbor:
“He took out a loan of $360,000 then he took out another loan for $65,000. Then, he went to another mortgage broker, packaged those and took out another loan for $47,400 and he didn’t make any payments on that. That started the foreclosure going.”
Hank and Helen confronted their lowlife, worthless, assumed druggie (I’m making that call) grandson, he fled and never came back. I guess what Batman says is true: ” criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot.”
As a 23-year-old man who is still lucky to have grandparents in his life, I genuinely cannot wrap my head around this level of scumbaggery. I mean, look, you can be a bad person, whatever dude, but to DRAG YOUR GRANDPARENTS INTO IT?! PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU DEARLY?! There are circles of hell reserved for these types of people, and I hope wherever Hank and Helen Kawecki’s grandson is, that he knows that circle is waiting for him.

An update from the GoFundMe page from July 26 reads:
We were back in court this morning asking for a stay of execution. There was a great deal of back and forth between the two attorneys and the judge. The attorney for the property owner kept talking about the amount of money his clients were loosing everyday – but in the end the judge said this – maybe not exact words. This is a very extraordinary case. I do not have the power to overturn the juries verdict, but I do wide discretionary power over the execution of the verdict.
“I issue a stay of execution of 60 days”
He said that, in now way, was he going to put this elderly couple out on the street and he was not going to make them homeless. He was not going to make them pay rent!
After the verdict, the attorney for the property owner had the gall to suggest that the property owner should be forced to pay rent from the Gofundme account! They had seen the media and seen the Gofundme account page.
There have been many Gofundme accounts about paying money to attorneys and concerns about not giving the money directly to Hank and Helen. I am going to answer them in a following post later tonight.
Hopefully this story has a happy ending. Internet, let’s find this a**hole.
