Some seasons just aren’t meant to be. The 2015 Illinois Fighting Illini would be a prime example of that. The team was 5-4 and needed just one win in their last three games to make a bowl game. Illinois would lose their last three games however to finish 5-7 which has prompted a coaching change in Champaign. Wes Lunt is back as a senior to be the team’s starting quarterback but will have stiff competition from the team’s other signal callers including Jeff George, Jr, the son of the former Illini star. The schedule isn’t the most favorable either so it could be a very tough climb back into serious bowl consideration for the Illini.
