The Internet is a weird place. Obviously it can be incredibly helpful — literally anything you need to know is at your fingertips and news spreads faster than it ever has before — but it also paves the way for trolls who have nothing better to do than tear people down in the comments section of a website. It’s kind of pathetic, actually. Virtually none of those people would dare speak these words to a woman’s face, so why would you type them out?
Naturally that kind of logic just doesn’t stick.
Sarah Spain and Julie DiCaro have received their fair share of revolting hate comments throughout their career. Both women were straight-up harassed by a bunch of clueless fools who thought it was a good idea to trash talk behind their computer screen. Unfortunately we can’t stop the hate, but we can make other people understand how horrific they can be.
In a new video from Not Just Sports, the #MoreThanMean campaign was born. Several men sat down with sportscasters Sarah Spain and Julie DiCaro and read aloud some of the vile comments they receive from viewers on a daily basis. It’s more upsetting than you can imagine.

Wow. Some people shouldn’t be allowed to use a computer — ever.
