A white male San Francisco State University student was accosted by a black female (who was originally thought to be an employee) just because he had dreadlocks.
Although the video recording starts halfway through the interaction, it seems as though the employee, who seems to work in the mail room, takes offense at the fact the white rasta wannabe is “appropriating” her culture. In fact, the very first thing we hear is her asking her friend Inspector Gadget is whether or not he has any scissors.
As lame and painful as this is to write: that’s a threat.
The whole scene is absolutely ridiculous. First, because I thought that people like the white guy disappeared in the early 2000’s. Second, because the nerve of the woman to stop someone who’s clearly bought 100% into the Rasta thing for appropriating her culture is pretty infuriating.
Then even more upsetting is that Dreadlocks clearly tries to walk away from the situation, when she grabs him and then tries to accuse him of putting his hands on her.
Update–4:29 PM: San Francisco State University has made the following statement about the interaction.
