Faith Evans just announced that The King & I, a brand-new duet album she’s working on with her dead husband The Notorious BIG, is close to being finished. That’s great news for both R&B and hip hop heads who have been left wondering why Tupac had so much unreleased music, while Biggie had very little.
[Editor’s note: The real reason why is because Tupac was significantly older than Biggie and had been rapping for much longer. But point taken.]
Faith broke the news on Dame Dash’s radio show yesterday, where she said that she’s in the “finishing stages.” Go ahead and skip ahead to 23:08 where she phones into Dame’s show:

The King & I Timeline:
Faith Evans has been working on The King and I project since at least October 2015. And as she told Dame Dash on the radio show, she’s very close to finishing it. She told him that they’re looking for an early September release for the album and that a single should be on the way in early Summer.
On the show, Faith told Dame that “I know if he was alive, ultimately we would have done something like this.”
The King & I Details:
At this time, it’s unknown whether or not The King & I will use unreleased tracks or audio. We can say that Faith revealed that she’s developing a hologram of Biggie.
“We’re in development of a hologram, but I don’t know necessarily to what extent I’m going to perform with it.”
