What is National Signing Day? It is the first day that a high school senior is eligible to sign a National Letter of Intent for college football. The idea is to protect these young athletes from being preyed on by colleges and universities too soon, allowing them to fully develop opinions and relationships to the programs and coaches before they commit. As a high school football player, you’re not required to announce your decision on National Signing Day, but it’s become a fun day that the media loves to cover–so why not?
Despite the rules, some players have either verbally committed to a college or taken it a step further and already enrolled in college. But we’re not talking about those players in this post. Here, we’re only looking at players who haven’t announced their decision.
