Saturday Night Live had Ryan Gosling hosting last night, and an abundance of kinky Christmas sketches. You would’ve thought it was the last Christmas show of the year. It’s hard to believe the writers had two elaborate sketches about Christmastime kink and decided, “Hey, they both need to be on this episode instead of waiting an extra week for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s holiday show—even though we really should ration out on our occasional funny ideas!”
We’re thinking the writers are worried that Amy and Tina are going to take over next week’s episode with their own material. Anyway, kink and Christmas work really well together around the SNL offices—as we discovered with this sketch about elves who want to be punished for being naughty…

We also learned that Vanessa Bayer and kink goes together really well. She just became our favorite SNL star—with her taking another turned-on turn with Gosling in the “Santa Baby” sketch. We usually goof on SNL for being lazy with pre-taped sketches, but this one really works as a short film. So that’s two genuine SNL highlights that have Vanessa Bayer, kink, and the holidays. Too bad that’s such a limited combination, but the writers have one more Christmas episode this year to bring it all together. They can trash at least one Tina and Amy sketch…
