At least four students have been stabbed at U.C. Merced in front of the Classroom and Office building early Wednesday morning. School officials issued an alert on Twitter around 8 AM PST.

Update: Police have announced that Faisal Mohammad is the name of the stabber.

Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke University told reporters that university police responded to the scene and shot and killed the suspect. Faisal’s name wasn’t released at the time of the stabbings, but police did announce that attacker was a male, 20-years-old, and a student at the school. Later authorities admitted he was 18-years-old.

Two of the stabbing victims were airlifted to area hospitals, while others were treated on the scene.
