An epic fight between King Kong and Godzilla may be making its way to the big screen.
Legendary Pictures is looking to move its King Kong spinoff Kong: Skull Island from Universal to Warner Bros., the same company that holds the sequel rights to Legendary’s 2014 Godzilla film.
The potential studio shift would pave the way for a monster movie mashup. Skull Island is currently slated to hit theaters March 10, 2017, with Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson as leads. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but we have high hopes for the pending project.
As for the mashup, here’s hoping this it’s actually a thing – don’t play with our heart strings like that!
