London just got way more kickass.
Developers in the British city are currently building what they claim to be the first sky pool – a 25-meter long pool that’s ten stories above the ground and situated between two blocks of luxury flats.
Sick! If we had the kind of money to stay at a place like that – it costs about $942,572 to live there.
The innovative pool will be located at Embassy Gardens and will be constructed by aquarium designers using 20-cm thick glass. Is that really enough to stop the whole thing from collapsing to the ground? Everyone seems to think so… but we’re not totally buying it.
The pool will allow swimmers to breaststroke from the development’s roof-top bar, spa, and orangery. A walkway will also be provided for residents.
According to Sean Mulryan, chairman and CEO of the Ballymore Group (the project’s developers), it’s all about being f*cking cool:
“My vision for the sky pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering. I wanted to do something that had never been done before… The experience of the pool will be truly unique, it will feel like floating through the air in central London.”
Sounds terrifying, but also kind of awesome. We can’t decide which wins out – help!
