Do you like peeing in the shower? Thought so. Do you like having sex in the shower? Sure, it might be a little overrated, but come on, who doesn’t love a little water sports? Well guess what, if you’re a female your two favorite aquatic activities might be mutually beneficial.
Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle website (apparently that exists), reports that peeing in the shower is an effective way to strengthen your pelvic muscles, which support the organs on your pelvic floor, like your bladder and your uterus. Having a weak pelvic floor might cause you to accidentally pee when you cough, laugh or sneeze, or feel like you have to pee all the time. It also could lead to worsened sex. Thankfully, the good people over at Goop (lol Gwyneth) have found a solution to this problem:
Try peeing in the shower squatting down. When you squat to pee as opposed to sitting up straight on the toilet, you automatically engage your pelvic floor and it naturally stretches and tones.
Apparently, as Dr. Laura Berman explained, engaging with your pelvic floor in this way not only helps to improve control of your bladder, but it also apparently improves your sex life. Having a strengthened pelvic floor can increase feelings of sexual arousal, reduce pain during sex and create more lubrication.
On a side note, this a golden opportunity for me to use a clip from the greatest show ever made.
So there you have it, a bunch of
bullsh*t scientific data that proves something most guys have known all along: pissing in the shower is awesome. Thanks for the validation, Gwyneth.
