Chris Farley Shrek audio tapes have emerged after years of being “lost.” The comic genius had recorded up to 90% of the dialogue for the movie when he died in 1997 of a drug overdose at the age of 33.

It pains me to say this, but the truth of the matter is that it seems like Mike Myers was a better fit for the movie. True, the dialogue in the movie was heavily rewritten once Mike came onto the set, but there’s something to be said for Farley’s humor being mostly physical–something you can’t get in an animated movie.
As for Eddie Murphy? He was perfectly cast from day one. No one’s arguing that.
