This day and age has seen people finding themselves attached to their phones all the time. It has even affected professional sports as Pablo Sandoval found himself benched for Thursday’s game after admitting that he liked a photo on Instagram during Wednesday night’s game. A blogger tweeted out the info Wednesday after they noticed Sandoval’s activity.
Sandoval told the team that he used his phone upon coming back to the clubhouse after using the bathroom. Is there any time where the phone is off-limits these days? Sandoval is getting paid millions of dollars to play baseball and not playing on his cell phone during games. Those three hours should be all about the game and nothing other than that.
Hopefully there is a lesson learned here about the situation and staying off of social media during games. Sandoval is likely going to be much more careful about his actions because everyone is watching these days online. It is even possible that Major League Baseball takes their own actions against Sandoval. One like on Instagram could cost Sandoval some money.
