A pool party at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool in McKinney, TX is not only the scene where 13-year-old Jahda Bakari was arrested, but also where a viral video was shot. That video is now the focus of a debate on whether or not the arrest, captured on film, was racially charged.
The story first started getting some serious press once the original video, titled “COPS CRASH POOL PARTY” was uploaded to YouTube. The video (below) shows what happened after police were called to the scene. Around 3:00 in you can see Jahda start getting into an argument with an officer (who was placed on administrative leave following this incident).

Following the physical altercation between Jahda and the officer, that same policeman can be seen drawing his weapon and pointing it at the teens.
According to eyewitness accounts of the events, the whole situation occurred because of racially charged statements from some people at the pool party. According to one teenager, a white woman at the pool started making racist comments to the black kids at the party, including that the black teens at the party to get used to the bars outside the pool because that’s all they were going to see.
Things soon started getting ugly afterwards, so the police were called.
That same racist woman might very well be the same woman getting battered in this new video.
