Kenneth Stancil III, the suspect accused of shooting Ron Lane at Wayne Community College in North Carolina, was arrested while sleeping on the beaches of Daytona Beach.
After the shooting, Goldsboro Police Department set up a perimeter and did room-to-room searches of Wayne Community College. The reason they couldn’t find him was because Stancil had already escaped to Daytona Beach, Florida.
According to a statement from the police, Volusia County beach police approached Stancil for violating the city’s ban on sleeping on the beach but took him in for further identification because he was carrying a knife, the statement said.

He’s now being held until transportation to North Carolina is arranged.
