In 1944, women kept colleges afloat. While men were away fighting at the height of the Second World War, admissions offices at university’s across the country fought hard to keep women in school.
Today women outnumber men at four-year undergraduate universities, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). The photo above depicts the Tri Delta sorority sisters having fun in a University of Texas dorm room, and the images below are photos from today.
Based on these photos, I think it’s safe to say that men are happy to be outnumbered.
