Michelle Obama Turnips For What — As Video, Because That GIF Is Sad

We’ll let other people debate whether Barack Obama is the Coolest President Ever or just another guy in mom jeans, but we’ll just have to accept that Michelle Obama really made a bad move with her big “Turnip For What” moment. For those who missed out, our First Lady was doing some kind of #AskMichelle thing to celebrate the benefits of healthy eating.
That’s her thing. We’re cool with that, since we’re out of school and don’t have to watch our precious vending machines get infiltrated with healthy snacks instead of Doritos. But we still can’t believe that Michelle Obama orchestrated a Dad Joke moment as bad as having a patsy ask about turnips, and her rocking out with this dopey response.
Of course, we mainly feel bad for Malia and Sasha–but at least they can have a normal moment of parental shame, instead of having the kids at school making jokes about their dad’s poll figures…
