College football stadiums are getting bigger and bigger every year. Texas A&M’s Kyle Field is in the middle of a massive renovation to get the stadium into the 21st century. On Saturday when the Aggies faced Ole Miss however, the stadium saw the biggest crowd of people ever to see a game in the state of Texas. 110,633 people watched the game which broke the state record and set a SEC attendance record. It proves once again that people love their college football and will sit around with all those people to watch a sporting event. When the redevelopment is over with, the stadium will hold just over 102,000 people so it was obviously a standing-room only event on Saturday.
It is surprising that the record wasn’t broken when Johnny Manziel was playing for the Aggies but it took until this season where a top-3 team came to town to get the record. Texas A&M had started the season 5-0, but two straight losses has put the game in a much rougher position–and now they must play at Alabama this coming Saturday. Let’s see what kind of crowd they draw there.
