When Red Bull Air Race Champion Kirby Chambliss took Amelia Earhardt (her real name)–the youngest woman to fly across the world in a single-engine airplane–in his plane, she had no idea what to expect. 360 Rolls, stalls, flips, the whole nine-yards.
As Amelia put it, Kirby did everything she was “taught never to do in the bigger planes.”

Kirby will be competing in this weekend’s Red Bull Air Race, held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The pilots fly the fastest, most agile and lightweight racing planes to navigate a low-level aerial track made up of 80-foot-high air-filled pylons at speeds of up to 230 mph while enduring forces of up to 10G.
