It was a big weekend for college football fans in Mississippi as both Ole Miss and Mississippi State each won big games and moved into the top 5 in the latest AP rankings. And, of course, the fans rioted like real maniacs. We’ve already checked out Katy Perry’s antics, but there was also the matter of tearing down the goalposts, as seen above. And there was another big win for Ole Miss fan Buckner Corso, who took to Twitter with this memorable shot…
It took Corso and 20 others to get the goalpost back to his apartment about a mile away, according to Corso’s comments to ESPN. Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork made it a point to make sure him and Coach Hugh Freeze got a piece of that goalpost in sending a tweet back to Corso. Saws were brought out and the goalpost was cut into 30 pieces on Sunday.
It is great to see the students getting involved in their school’s victory and while storming the field and tearing down the goalpost isn’t the best idea out there, Corso got his souvenir forever. Ole Miss now has to find a way to get to the new college football playoff and win a championship. Maybe they can take Corso with them if they need someone to tear down some goalposts.
