Detroit Lions Tight End Joseph Fauria Sprains Ankle Chasing Dog

Weird sports injuries are a part of the game. For Detroit Lions tight end Joseph Fauria though, his sports injury off the field will likely go down as legend. Fauria sprained his left ankle chasing his 3-month-old dog as the animal was about to pee. Fauria misstepped while running downstairs and will be out for an undisclosed amount of time. This is an incident where stairs and big athletes don’t mix. It would have been more logical to just let the small dog pee and then clean it up–as opposed to risking injury just to get “Lil’ Rufio” outside. That is the dog’s name and he also has an Instagram account. Yes, this is a dog with an Instagram account, which puts everything in context.
Fauria can just sit on the Detroit sidelines waiting for his ankle to heal up because of the incident. It may be time to find Lil’ Rufio a doggie door or somewhere to go in the house so this doesn’t happen again. It is just another weird injury to a Lions player. Earlier this season, linebacker Stephen Tulloch tore his ACL celebrating a sack. Maybe Fauria and Tulloch can explain injury logic to each other.
