Louisville Cheerleader Found Dead In Apartment Complex

22-year-old student Danielle Cogswell, a former junior Olympian and Louisville Cardinals cheerleader, was found dead in the Cardinal Towne apartment complex on Monday morning.

In addition to being a cheerleader for the Louisville Cardinals for one year, she had been on the ASU squad for three years before she transferred to U of L. “She will always be remembered for her smile and her dedication to her team,” Louisville’s associate athletic director for student life said.

Louisville officials have stated that police are investigating the matter, but at the moment no signs of foul play have been reported.

This is the second unfortunate death of a student-athlete that we’ve reported this summer, so as corny as it sounds, please make sure to actually enjoy the time you spend with your friends.

Louisville’s campus and staff we be providing counseling for Danielle’s friends and peers, per a report by WHAS.
