E3 Day One Recap: “Alien Isolation,” “Doom 4,” “Uncharted 4” [VIDEOS]

The folks behind Alien Isolation released a new trailer featuring some gruesome images of what’s sure to be a gripping and thrilling adventure game. A ton of trailers for other games were also released today as part of E3.

The video game behemoth that is the annual E3 Entertainment Expo is currently underway in Los Angeles and we’re already getting bombarded with teasers and footage of new titles heading our way. The one that seems to be getting the most talk is Alien Isolation, a new first person, survival throwback to the original Alien movies that stuffs players into a cramped spaceship with an infected crew and a bloodthirsty Alien Queen…

Throwbacks and sequels seem to be the main theme of this year’s E3 as a good number of games are continuations of old favorites or sequels to new classics. Sony and Naughty Dog are winding down one of its most successful franchises by bringing an end to Nathan Drake’s adventures with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Bethesda Softworks and iD Software surprised everyone by finally unveiling some footage from the long awaiting FPS Doom 4

The latest reboot of Tomb Raider gave Lara Croft a new edge and a gripping origin story for one of gaming’s greatest adventurers. Rise of the Tomb Raider picks up that story…

The Expo also delivered some more additions to old favorites like Crackdown 3

They also showcased another sequel to a solid crowd pleaser with the release of Assassin’s Creed Unity

Some interesting stand-alone titles also jumped out of E3’s starting gate and are eating their own bit of buzz. Sony released what looks to be a breathtaking exploration sim for the Ps4 called No Man’s Sky

Microsoft’s side of the conference featured a downright goofy third person shooter called Sunset Overdrive

Microsoft also didn’t have any big news about Halo 5 just yet but they did announce a new Halo: Master Chief Collection complete with a remastered Halo 2 and re-releases of Halo 3, Halo 4 and Halo: Combat Evolved. It also comes with a beta invite for Halo 5

The Xbox One will also get a reboot of the strategy classic Phantom Dust

Finally, this isn’t a trailer per say but it’s such good news that we couldn’t sleep tonight if we knew we didn’t share it with you. Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Studios is teaming up with Sony and the PS4 to re-release a remastered version of his classic, groundbreaking and downright hilarious graphic adventure Grim Fandango
