It was a scary night Monday in Dallas when Dallas Stars forward Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench during the team’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Play was stopped just over six minutes into the contest when Peverley had a cardiac event. He was rushed to the hospital where he is doing better now. The game was postponed in light of the events and will be finished at a later date.
The interesting thing about the situation is that he wanted back into the game after everything that happened to him. Peverley had been treated for an irregular heartbeat during the preseason and sat out a game last week because of it. Those kinds of medical situations are extremely dangerous and one that may end Peverley’s career.
Everyone hopes that he has a speedy recovery from this latest event and hopefully he can return to the ice sometime in the future. It was definitely something that no one on either one of those teams will soon forget…
