Major Music Festival Canceled Over Safety Risk–And More Morning Links

Fans in Mexico city are outraged after a two-day heavy metal concert has been canceled by the Mexican state government. The March 15-16 concert was set to have bands such as KISS, Twisted Sister, and Guns ‘N Roses perform. According to our friends over at The Huffington Post, the state sent about 300 riot police to surround the fairgrounds Friday in the township of Texcoco, where the concert was supposed to take place. One of the concert’s organizers, Javier Castaneda, says, “This is not a question of discrimination against heavy metal, it is more about political and financial interests.”
