The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show finished up on Tuesday night with Tampa Bay Rays catcher Ryan Hanigan’s dog winning Best in Breed. The Australian shepherd–named Copperridge What’s Your Dream–finished top out of over 190 breeds. That means the dog is having a better career than Hanigan has managed during his seven years in Major League Baseball.
He signed a three-year contract with the Rays in the offseason, and will look to help Tampa Bay to a championship for the first time in the franchise’s history. Is the next step going to be Hanigan bringing the dog to the ballpark for good luck? Anything is possible for Hanigan and his winning dog. Maybe the good luck the dog had this week will rub off of the Rays in 2014. It couldn’t hurt to bring another winner into the locker room.
