No movie made before 2000 will be left un-remade, and the “Evil Dead” is no exception.…
They're remaking Evil Dead. But before you diehard fans of the original freak out, know that "they" isn't some heartless Hollywood producer. Both original writer/director/executive producer Sam Raimi and original star/executive producer Bruce Campbell are involved in the remake. Still, watching the trailer...
14 pics! We're suspicious of people dragging zombies into plotlines around here, but tonight's episode of Castle is a pretty fun crime drama with a walking-dead twist. It also has instant authenticity with the presence of Devanny Pinn. Her role isn't big enough, but Pinn is a big deal to real horror fans. Get to know Devanny's delicious bod in the sexy (and occasionally wtf) pics here...
It's the 79th anniversary of the opening of the first drive-in movie theater! You'd think the folks at Google would've waited an extra year before making a big production out of it on their home page. It's still nice to see everyone reminded of the importance of the drive-in movie--so let's learn a few fun facts and check out some weirdness from this great American institution!
We’ve been joking about this for a while now, but the zombies are finally at our gates. First, it was just one guy ch…
You know who's going to have a good Memorial Day weekend? Josh Brolin. Pretty much all the critics say that his work in Men in Black 3 is an incredible performance. But is Brolin being wasted, or is MIB3 worthy of his talents? And what about the plucky little horror film Chernobyl Diaries? Is it a sleeper? We've got critics battling it out...
There are a few great forgotten horror films for stoners. We can all guess how those films ended up forgotten. Check out t…

DraftHouse Films is the force behind "The ABCs OF Death", a feature-length horror anthology film made up of 26 shorts directed by 26 different filmmakers. Each short's death-themed story corresponds to a different letter of the alphabet. For instance, A is for Asphyxiation, B is for Bullet, and so on. Twenty-five of the 26 letters have been assigned and produced. The 26th - and last - entry (the letter 'T') will go to the winner of DraftHouse Films' contest. Have you ever wondered what mentally insane people see everytime they close their eyes, ones that have watched way too much bad television and movies? Well you get this - 10 minutes of what happens when you put a collection of unlabeled VHS tapes into a blender and watch the resulting phantasmagoria of chaos. We have absolutely no idea why this video was made or the purpose it serves mankind, but believe us when we say this: once you start watching, you can't stop - no matter how psychedelically freaky it gets! See this video oddity for yourself... if losing your mind isn't that big of a deal for you.
Ever since Twilight flashed its sparkly fangs onto the silver screen, young girls and crazy cougars everywhere have been going gaga for "monsters" with pale complexions and six packs that us guys can't compete with. They've already made vampires and werewolves pansies and I have my suspicions that mummies and the Creature from the Black Lagoon are next. Here are a few monsters that, no matter how hard female writers may try, won't be able to turn into sexy models. At least, I hope not. See what makes them so very un-sexy after the jump!
Have you ever found yourself so bored with the shameless repetition of holiday specials that you crave some violence? By about the billionth time you've seen A Christmas Story, you really do want Ralphy to shoot his eyeball out with that bee-bee gun, complete with blood and gore. The holiday season can leave us all quite a bit jaded with the overload of cheer and glee to the point of being toxic. For that kind of depression, nothing brightens up one's day more than a horror movie to turn this festive time of year on its candy-coated ass. Here is a list of some much needed counter-programming.
This week's entries feature an antsy prisoner, ungodly godparents, John Lennon, crazy love, dumb teenagers, female empowerment, pimps, hos, and a writer you might not want to rape. So, stop working on that super secret PowerPoint and read these previews, Karen!
The holiday weekend saw audiences doing serious labor away from the movie theaters as the top earner only pulled in around $16 mil. The American outdueled Machete while Going The Distance only made it up halfway up Gross Box Office Mountain. This week's entries feature umbrella corporations, dwarves, suicide, high school wrestling, and hip hop all-star Joaquin Phoenix. Put away the coke and snort these previews, homey!
After the early success of The Expendables, it's only natural that word of a sequel is already out. Everyone will have their speculations as to what actors should join the greatest action ensemble ever, including me. Although there are numerous unknowns who've cut their teeth in dozens of action flicks, The Expendables 2 deserves more household names and faces to share the explosions and fighting that gave every man with a pair a grin from ear to ear. Hopefully Arnold (if politically possible) and Bruce will get more screen time in the sequel, but the following actors should definitely be considered for major roles regardless.
Sequels, Remakes, Reboots and "Reimaginationings" have been Hollywood's bread and butter over the past decade, however movies like 2008's Rambo and Alien vs. Predator wouldn't exist without the original classics from the decades before it. If you're a guy and haven't seen these movies, you better speed, shoot, fight or explode yourself to your local Blockbuster, add them to your Netflix Queue or find them on eBay because they're all must sees.
Well, uh... hmmph. Ummm, jeez. MacGruber, man. I mean. What the hell happened? Best SNL film since Wayne's World and you debut at #6? Media sources everywhere are calling it an "unmitigated bomb." Pretty rough considering it's almost made back its entire budget already in three days. I admit, I didn't help the cause by not buying a ticket, but come on. I can't buy 600,000 tickets.
Gone are the days when men would rule the "tough guy" roles in film. More and more women have made their way into the leading roles where strength and tenacity are key. These women have fought everything from zombies to psychotic murderers, all while bringing class and hotness to the screen. These are the truly badass women of Hollywood and it's time they get some recognition.
What 80's or 90's slasher horror film isn’t complete without some sort of damsel in distress frantically running from their would-be tormentor in Jason, Freddy, or Michael? As they crash through their pitch black dreams into the open arms of the terrifying Freddy Krueger, we couldn’t help but feel at least slightly sorry for them. In celebration of the ninth release in this franchise’s storied history, we give you the women of Elm Street, some of whom turned out to be luckier than others.
We all watch movies...but have you ever watched a movie and said, "what was this director thinking?" or "how is this guy still making movies?" Chances are that answer is yes. Bad, overrated and delusional directors infect our theaters and televisions. They must be stopped!
Here are all the hot DVDs being released this week.
Based on the Horror classic that helped kick start the horror movie genre, The Wolfman tells the tale of Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro) and his return to his homeland of Blackmore. After his mother died when he was a child, Talbot left his home and traveled to America, where he spent the majority of his life.
With The Twatlight Gaga: New Poon coming out this weekend, I can't help but feel more than a little peeved at how much attention vampires are receiving. More specifically, it irks me to no end to see hordes and hordes upon hordes of women swoon, seizure, and pass out over the mere mention of a vampire. No matter what the flick or show, chicks be lovin' dem bloodsuckers. Well, I say they're c*cksuckers!
