#GlobalWarming is my dude. Yup, I said it. I know it’s a hot take (literally, HA) but I’m actually pro-global warming. Despite what Leonardo DiCaprio might have you believe, there’s a lot of shit in this world that’s a more immediate threat than global warming. ISIS is made up of human beings and we seem to have a hard time tracking them down, so how the hell are we supposed to pin down global warming? As Muhammad Ali once said, you can’t hit what you can’t see.
So, despite the fact that Donald Trump considers global warming (and CNN) #fakenews, let’s get to the science of the records it’s been setting.

NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that last year passed 2015 as the hottest year on record.
NOAA calculated that the average 2016 global temperature was 58.69 degrees (14.84 degrees Celsius) – beating the previous year by 0.07 degrees (0.04 Celsius).
NASA’s figures, which include more of the Arctic, are higher at 0.22 degrees (0.12 Celsius) warmer than 2015.
This is the fifth time in a dozen years that the globe has set a new annual heat record. Previous records were set in 2005, 2010, and then in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Corinne Le Quere, director of England’s Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, said:
“Of course this is climate change, it’s overwhelmingly climate change. Warming (is) nearly everywhere. The Arctic sea ice is collapsing. Spikes in fires from the heat. Heavy rainfall from more water vapor in the air.”
In an effort to thwart those who believe that global warming exists, Trump plans to yell “#fakenews!” at the sun every day once he takes office, accosting the sun similarly to the way he accosted CNN’s Jim Acosta.
And since the internet is the internet and half of the people reading this are half-educated, this is sarcasm. Global warming is not my dude and I am not pro-global warming. I do believe in it, however. Unlike some people.
