ABOUT Yainslie
University of Nevada, Reno, Junior
I love my college because…
I was raised in Reno and have lived here my whole life; I always wanted to be a part of the Wolf Pack.
I really hate when…
people take advantage of other people’s generosity.
I major in…
Criminal Justice and Chemistry minor (soon to be declared). I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the world, so I want to become a forensic scientist so that I can help put bad people away for the crimes that they have committed. In doing so, I can help put more criminals in prisons and keep them off our streets.
At school, you can find me…
unfortunately, nothing in school because I am a full-time student and full-time employee at Spencer’s. But I’m very active with my fitness and am on a journey to better my health, my body, and my soul.
My ideal first date would be…
off-roading, shooting, a picnic, and deep conversation. I don’t want anything fancy; I just want good, quality time with my date.
My favorite late night study snack is definitely…
popcorn.
If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…
spend it with my family so I can thank them for all that they have helped me accomplish and for always believing in me.
If I would change one thing about the world, it would be…
the way humans interact with one another. It saddens me that we can’t take care of each other, a man-eat-man world is harmful to our species and I believe we would benefit by coming together as a whole instead of only looking out for oneself and their immediate family.
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…
I regret a lot of the decisions I have made, I could have done so much more to prepare myself for the future.
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I want to prove you don’t have to just be a pretty face or a sexy body to be recognized. Anyone can be a role model and everyone has the capability of being more than what is considered the social norm. It’s better to learn to be your own person than to try to be what society wants you to be because you can only be the best you that you can be.
