ABOUT Rachel
The University of Oklahoma, Senior
Why did you choose your school and what makes it better than the rest?
My school is HANDS DOWN the most gorgeous, academically driven, spirited school I could have ever laid my eyes on. When I began touring colleges my senior year of high school, I never imagined to feel the pull OU would have on me. I chose it because of it’s campus, when the flowers are in full bloom it literally takes my breath away. The academic programs are top rated and I know that when I have my degree to apply for jobs, the OU seal on my diploma will speaks volumes. The spirit is out of this world that it’s almost the same level as Texas-pride. Our sport teams are impressive and not to mention our new stadium(!!) that has us fired up about the upcoming football season. I also chose my school because they chose me too! How can I can deny a beautiful institution that bribes me with a partial scholarship?! It sounded too good to be true. And thankfully, it wasn’t!
What kind of activities are you involved in? (sorority, theatre, clubs, etc)
I am a member of Alpha Omicron Pi (ΑΟΠ), Health and Exercise Science Student Association, as well as a Student Athletic Trainer (most recently for the OU football team)!
If you had to choose one social media to use for the year, what would it be and why?
Instagram because I absolutely love pictures. They have a thousand words and I love to see peoples’ creativity and channel my own. I follow numerous accounts that inspire me as well as make me happy to look at. It’s a great way to keep up with old friends and be inspired.
What’s your major/what are you thinking of majoring in?
My major is Health and Exercise Science, basically Kinesiology, and I am striving to join the Air Force and attend graduate school to obtain my Masters to become a Physician Assistant.
What do you know now that you wish you knew as a freshman?
It is okay to change your major however many times you want! You think you know what you want the second you start your freshman year, but 9 times out of 10, you won’t. it is okay to be a bit indecisive in the beginning. Find out what your passion is and run with it!
Do you have a favorite sports team?
I am loyal to my university… so BOOMER SOONER!
Which celebrity would you invite to a dinner party at your house?
Ashley Graham because she’s outgoing, beautiful and promotes body positivity. She’s someone I have been following for quite some time and I truly see her as an inspiration.
What is your go to pre-game song?
A true pre-game, No Hands by Waka Flocka or anything by the Pussycat Dolls!
