ABOUT Madison
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Junior
Why did you choose your school and what makes it better than the rest?
I chose UNC-Charlotte because I wanted to move to a bigger city and meet new people! What makes UNCC the best is the friendly students and professors, and our spirit! We are a big school, with about 28,000 students, but we have so many organizations to get involved in, so you can feel at home. UNCC enrolls more transfer students than any other school in North Carolina, so we have a very diverse student body. I am a transfer student who moved to Charlotte in the fall of 2016! There’s nothin’ finer than a 49er!
What kind of activities are you involved in? (sorority, theatre, clubs, etc)
I am a sister of the Kappa Phi chapter of Delta Zeta Sorority! This past year, I was also in the Transfer Student Learning Community where I met other transfer students. I am also in Niners for Planned Parenthood. I’m also a hostess at a restaurant near campus called Boardwalk Billy’s.
What’s your major/what are you thinking of majoring in?
I am a Dance Education major and plan on teaching dance in public schools. I would love to teach high school and also be a coach for their dance team. I also want to work with non-profit organizations to provide dance classes to underprivileged kids.
Who’s the most famous graduate from your school?
Cedric Maxwell, a retired NBA player, graduated from UNCC in 1977. He was drafted by the Boston Celtics and played 11 seasons with them. Another famous alum is Clay Aiken.
