Louisiana State University at Shreveport, Junior

I love my college because…

I moved to Shreveport, LA two years ago and fell in love with the people here. LSUS is perfect because it\’s in the heart of Shreveport so I don’t have to leave the family I’ve gained here.

I really hate…

people who belittle or put down others.

I double major in…

Accounting and Finance, and I’d love to be CFO of a company.

My hometown is awesome because…

I’m from Fort Worth, TX and love that it has a big city feel but it’s not overwhelming. I believe it’s DFW’s best kept secret.

At school, you can find me…

the director of interns at 318LIVE, a citywide young adult ministry and the curator for the 318UPDATE, a weekly eNewsletter for 318LIVE. I am also a product ambassador for Granarly, an up-and-coming granola business.

The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…

a set design class while studying theatre, and it has by far been my favorite class. I just recently got my Associate’s Degree in Theatre with a concentration in Acting, random- I know. My professor gave us creative freedom, and I surprised myself with the work I did.

My ideal first date would be…

something fun! Like flying kites at the park, feeding ducks and the duck pond, just something different from the typical dinner and a movie.

My favorite late night study snack is…

dark chocolate covered espresso beans!

If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…

spend my last hours with the people I love and reminisce on the times we’ve had together.

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…

the human trafficking industry.

If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…

everything gets better, I promise.

I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…

I love empowering others and inspiring people to just be who they want to be. It doesn’t matter what society says; if you want to be a dancer, be a dancer. If you want to climb the corporate ladder, be the best business woman this world has ever seen. Being Miss COED 2017 would open doors of influence to continue inspiring others to live their best life.
