Why did you choose your school and what makes it better than the rest?
I chose the University of Minnesota because of its beautiful campus and top-ranked psychology program. This school is unique because it not only is it in a major metropolitan city, but it is also surrounded by nature such as waterfalls and lakes. Where else could you find this perfect combination? Our mascot, Goldy, has won national mascot titles and you can find him all over campus giving students high fives and hugs. On top of the academics, this school is also home to national winning sports teams. There’s so much to be proud of here.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is down by the banks of the Mississippi river. The famous Mississippi runs right through our campus, that’s not something other schools can say. I enjoy sitting on the edge of the river and watching our school’s rowing team practice. There’s nothing more beautiful and relaxing than that!
What kind of activities are you involved in? (sorority, theatre, clubs, etc)
I am involved in some clubs on campus, my favorite being the Dance Collective Club. Every week I practice different styles of dance ranging from Hip Hop to Jazz in preparation for our fall and spring semester showcases. I’m also a huge fan of nature, so I joined the Outdoor Club.
If you had to choose one social media to use for the year, what would it be and why?
If I had to choose one social media to use, it would be Snapchat. With Snapchat, I can stay connected with my friends and also contact them whenever I want. The filters are addicting and fun, there are news/magazine articles to read, and Shazam is programmed into this app. I think I definitely could survive off of only snapchat for a year.
What’s your major/what are you thinking of majoring in?
I am a Psychology BA major.
Who’s the most famous graduate from your school?
The most famous graduate from my school would have to be Bob Dylan.
Would you like to study abroad? Have you?
I definitely want to study abroad in the future. Our school is known for having multiple study abroad programs for almost any country you want! I am looking to study abroad in Australia.
What do you know now that you wish you knew as a freshman?
I wish I knew not to buy textbooks from the bookstore early. Some professors don’t even require you to have the textbook. Now I know to wait until after the first few days of class.
Do you have a favorite sports team?
My favorite sports team at the University of Minnesota would be our volleyball team because we’re nationally ranked and it’s the most exciting sport to watch. In general, my favorite sports team would have to be the Golden State Warriors since I’m born and raised in the Bay Area. Not to mention, we’re a pretty solid team.
