ABOUT Hailey

University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign, Sophomore

Why did you choose your school and what makes it better than the rest?

I chose my school because it’s close to home and has a great academic program. A few of my family members attended and they LOVED it so I had to see what all of the hype was about and it definitely lived up to it. UIUC has everything you could ask for- school spirit coming out the wazoo, thriving Greek Life, unbeatable academic programs, a huge lively campus, and the social scene is great.

What kind of activities are you involved in? (sorority, theatre, clubs, etc)

I am a proud member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. I am living in the house next year and couldn’t be more excited. As far as clubs go, I was in October Lovers Ckub last year. This year I plan to join as many clubs as I can with my sorority sisters.

If you had to choose one social media to use for the year, what would it be and why?

I would choose Instagram because it’s always been the one I’m most prevalent on. I love twitter, it’s great but I never got as into tweeting as I should. That should change soon!

What’s your major/what are you thinking of majoring in?

I came in undecided but I plan to declare my major psychology and minor criminology this year on the fast track to law school after undergrad.

Who’s the most famous graduate from your school?

Hugh Hefner.

What do you know now that you wish you knew as a freshman?

I wish I knew that I will never live as close to the ARC (gym) as I do now so I should probably utilize it more than I do.

Do you have a favorite sports team?

Ever? Blaxkhawks. At school? Men’s ice hockey team.

What is a nickname that your friends call you?

Hails, yo gabba gabba, gabs, gabaghoul, hai, etc. any shortened versions of Hailey (because apparently it’s not short enough).

Which celebrity would you invite to a dinner party at your house?

I would probably invite Jonah Hill. I love to laugh.

What is your go to pre-game song?

It’s not the typical first choice, but the first songs my friends and I play at pre-games are Stacys Mom and 1985.

Big 10
