Universiry of Southern California, Freshman

I love my college because…

it has always been a dream of mine to go to school in California. I have been singing, dancing, acting, and playing piano my whole life, so with a huge interest in the performing arts, I knew enrolling in USC’s dramatic arts program would be perfect. I am able to study anything I want here, as I am double majoring in sports journalism. The student body is diverse, and the campus is beautiful. There are so many opportunities to get involved and to stay busy! I am also a part of the Delta Gamma sorority here which makes USC even greater. Fight on!

I really hate when…

people are negative! I try my best to be optimistic and encouraging for myself and those around me. Pessimism gets us nowhere!

I major in…

Theatre and Sports Journalism. I have been doing musical theatre since I was little, but am planning on acting primarily for film. If I don’t become a “superstar” singing and acting, as fanciful as it sounds, I would love to work on ESPN with my favorite home teams the Houston Rockets, Texans, and Astros!

My hometown is awesome because…

it is so diverse with such a great variety of things to do! In Houston, we have sports events (my favorite being our Rockets basketball team), great outdoor activities, museums, exciting nightlife, and the best part is the FOOD!

At school, you can find me…

involved in my Delta Gamma sorority doing Philanthropy raising money for Service for Sight, or spending time with my sisters! Besides greek life, I love to volunteer with individuals with special needs through theatre therapy! When I am just hanging out, I love to go to parties or go eat! I will also be competing in Miss California this January!

My ideal first date would be…

going to dinner and a concert or music festival! I love music and the environment of concerts!

My favorite late night study snack is definitely…

macaroni and cheese because I am a mac ‘n cheese junkie, and I love trying new places and styles. I always crave mac and cheese late at night!

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…

the hate that is so prominent in really every environment. Being nice is so important, and I think, as a victim of bullying, people don’t understand the impact they have when they speak against someone or treat them with disrespect in regards to gender, weight, religion, sexuality, or ethnicity.

If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…

that it gets better! I did not have the best high school experience with how I was treated by those around me, but I know even just after attending orientation, that there are so many kind-hearted people that will be my friends!

I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…

I have competed in pageants all my life and love the way the title can act as a microphone if you have any message to share. I think this program is great at showing the fun, exciting life of sweet girls in colleges across America and I would love to represent it! I am very ambitious and fun loving so I think I would be perfect for this organization!
