University at Buffalo, Junior

I love my college because….

it’s the perfect fit for me. After attending three colleges in three years, I am so grateful to finally be at UB. There is so much diversity, but at the same time, we are all one big family. There is such a pride that comes with being a part of the UB community that is hard not to love. UB is better than the rest because of the camaraderie, top-notch faculty and staff, high quality education, and the ability to walk on campus and always see a friendly face no matter what time of day. Go Bulls!

I really hate…

people with negative attitudes. I feel as though it’s a waste! What good does it do to always be negative? It doesn’t help that person or those around them. I think it’s more beneficial to try to find even the smallest positive in every situation!

I major in…

Business with a concentration in Marketing. I hope to one day work in/own a marketing firm where I would be able to work with clients directly; helping to design their next ad campaign or working with their social media in order to increase their overall profitability.

My hometown is awesome because…

what’s not to love about Buffalo, NY?! We have chicken wings, sponge candy (if you don’t know what that is, I highly recommend looking it up), the Buffalo Bills (even though they’re not the best around, we still love them), and the pride of being a ‘Buffalonian.’ There are so many things that I love about Buffalo, way too many to list!

At school, you can find me…

currently managing a small organic cosmetic store, which is so gratifying when our customers walk out feeling good and looking beautiful. I am very into yoga right now. It’s so relaxing and if you do it right, an amazing workout! I am also working my way into one of the many Business fraternities we have on campus (so hard to choose)! My favorite things to do right now are to spend time with family, friends, and my super cute teddy bear puppy named Cooper.

The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…

Financial Accounting. I love working with numbers and seeing how each and every transaction has a specific place in an accounting statement. Most of all, I love the challenge it brings!

My ideal first date would be…

something intimate and romantic. I want to get to know the person I’m on a date with. I don’t need anything fancy or expensive; just something nice and cozy!

My favorite late night study snack is…

Cheetos! There is nothing better than that cheesy and crunchy goodness!

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…

all of the hate. I just don’t understand how some people can just walk around with so much hate in them. Stop criticizing other people and stop judging books by their covers. Open your heart and your mind and it will be amazing how different you see the world.

If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…

oh my gosh I love this question. If I could tell my high school self anything, it would be to stop caring about what other people think and enjoy your life. Really, live in the moment, keep on going, and don’t take anyone or anything for granted because it could all be gone in a second.

I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…

it would be the most amazing honor! I am so proud of how far I’ve come in my college career and where I am today. I would love to be able to inspire other girls that maybe are struggling in school and just let them know that it is all worth it. I had a really rough first few years and now to finally be able to say that I am happy with where and who I am and what I’m doing is something I’d never thought I’d be able to say. Being the winner or Miss COED 2017 would mean more to me than a title; for me, it means that I did it and that every obstacle I’ve overcome was well worth it.
