Donald Trump is Still Taking Random Shots at Colin Kaepernick

President Donald Trump is back in the headlines for taking random shots at former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has been out of the league for three years after bringing the protests against racial inequality and police brutality to the forefront of the news cycle during the NFL season.

Trump has been quiet about the NFL protests — which have been shrinking in number over the past two seasons — but he recently spoke to the media and decided it was time to take another shot at the former signal-caller.

While speaking to the media, Trump responded to questions about whether Kaepernick should be given another shot in the league when he hinted that the former San Francisco 49ers star turned activist simply isn’t good enough to make it and that’s why owners want no part of him.

“Only if he’s good enough,” Trump told reporters, via USA TODAY. “If he was good enough, they’d hire him. Why wouldn’t he play if he was good enough? I think if he’s good enough, I know the owners — I know [Patriots owner Robert] Kraft, I know so many of the owners — if he’s good enough, they’d sign him. I know these people. They would sign him in a heartbeat. They would do anything they can to win games.

“So I’d like to see it. Frankly, I’d love to see Kaepernick come in, if he’s good enough. But I don’t want to see him come in because somebody thinks it’s a good PR move. If he’s good enough, he would be in.”

The comments come after Kaepernick posted a workout video showing that he was ready for an NFL comeback.

The last time we heard from Kaepernick he had reached an agreement with the NFL regarding his collusion lawsuit. Whether he ever gets an opportunity to compete at the highest level again, however, remains to be seen.
