El Campo High School Teacher Fired for Filming Adult Videos in Classroom

El Campo High School in Texas has been rocked with a scandal after it was discovered that a regular substitute teacher was caught filming pornographic videos inside of her classroom. according to Click2Houston. The teacher, who has since been fired, reportedly filmed videos inside of her classroom and a teacher workroom.
No students were involved in the videos, and the teacher has yet to be named.
The videos were discovered when someone recognized the classroom in one of the videos and reported it to school officials.
“The District is aware that an improper criminal incident involving a substitute teacher occurred at ECHS. The incident involved a singular substitute teacher and no student or other district staff members were involved. The district has terminated the substitute’s employment and is seeking legal advice on this specific incident,” the school district said in a statement.
“The district continues to hold the safety and well being of our students and staff as our top priority.”
The teacher will not face any charges for public lewdness because no one was with her at the time the videos were filmed.
“The reason that they did not find evidence was because the suspect had closed the door and had clothes on and was not reckless about their conduct so that someone else could see them or be offended by it,” the police chief told the Victoria Advocate. “We have no case or report at this time.”

Since the beginning of 2019 alone, a handful of teachers have been arrested on charges stemming from inappropriate conduct with students, including Kassandra Moore at Broach School in Florida, 25-year-old substitute teacher Alexis Mercedes Boberg in Baltimore, Beulah High School teacher Kelsie Schmidt in North Dakota, Rancocas Valley Regional High School teacher Alexandra Reiner in New Jersey, and 50-year-old Florida substitute teacher Angela Jean Stanton in Florida. Additionally, Texas teachers Meredith Null and Edna Longoria were arrested on similar charges.
As for why the number of these incidents has seemingly increased, studies suggest that smartphones are the primary reason for the spike in illicit relationships, as it allows teachers to communicate with the minors without supervision.
According to a report from the Texas Education Association, smartphones make easy for teachers to privately text and talk with students and also make it possible for teachers and students to share explicit images.
