Kaitlin Bennett, better known as the “Kent State Gun Girl”, is an American conservative political activist and social media influencer who is best known for her gun-toting photoshoots.
Bennett, a libertarian gun rights activist, rose to national attention in the summer of 2018 with her genuinely outrageous pro-gun tweets.
Specifically, Bennett began to receive notoriety after she posed for graduation photos at her Kent State University graduation ceremony with an AR-10 rifle.
In addition to her gun-centric photo shoots, Bennett is also known for her constant ranting and raving about “campus carry” laws and for her semi-regular bullying of Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg on Twitter.
As for why Bennett is so staunchly in love with guns, she’s been quoted as saying:
“I believe that if the government has it, we should have it. Machine guns — any weaponry. To make sure the government can’t go against the citizens. We should be able to protect ourselves against a tyrannical government.”
Following her 15-minutes-of-fame, Bennett has since been seen running with the country’s most elite Conservative conspiracy crackpots such as InfoWars’ Alex Jones.
To her credit, she has parlayed her 15-minutes-of-fame into quite a social media following, as she currently has over 200,000 followers on Twitter and 74,000 followers on Instagram.
