Kathryn Newton is the Breakout Star of 'Pokemon: Detective Pikachu'

Kathryn Newton is an American actress who is about to become a whole lot more recognizable thanks to her star turn in the live-action version of Pokémon, POKÉMON Detective Pikachu.
Prior to Detective Pikachu, Newton — who was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 8, 1997 — was best known for her work on the CBS series Gary Unmarried, and the horror film Paranormal Activity 4.
One of Newton’s first acting roles came when she appeared in an episode All My Children when she was just four-years-old.
In the year 2008, Newton’s career took a major leap forward after she was cast in the short-lived CBS sitcom Gary Unmarried.
After her roles in All My Children and Gary Unmarried, Newton began popping up in various TV shows such as Mad Men, Dog With a Blog, Big Little Lies, Supernatural, Halt and Catch Fire and Little Woman, and movies such as Bad Teacher, The Martial Arts Kid, and Mono.
Newton’s career took another massive leap forward in the year 2017, when she appeared in the Academy Award-nominated films Lady Bird and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
After her roles in Lady Bird and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Newtown went on to star in further high-profile film projects such as Blockers, Ben Is Back, and POKÉMON Detective Pikachu.
POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, which stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Detective Pikachu (it’s weird, we know), is the first live-action movie since the franchise first kicked off back in the 1990s.
