Kacey Musgraves, born in the town of Golden, Texas, on August 21, 1988, is an American country music singer and songwriter.
Musgraves, who graduated from Mineola High School in 2006, first began her country music career when she just 18-years-old.
In the year 2007, Musgraves appeared on the fifth season of the USA Network’s reality competition Nashville Star.
After achieving early career success thanks to Nashville Star, Musgraves signed to record company Mercury Nashville in 2012. In 2013, Musgraves released her debut album Same Trailer Different Park, which went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Country Album.
Following the success of her debut album, Musgraves embarked on the “Same Trailer Different Tour”, her first headlining tour.
Two years after her Grammy Award win, Musgraves released her second studio album, Pageant Material, in 2015. Pageant Material was also nominated for Best Country Album at the Grammy’s, however, it did not win.
In 2016, Musgraves released her third studio album: a Christmas album titled A Very Kacey Christmas. The album was supported by the A Very Kacey Christmas Tour .
Musgraves got married to Ruston Kelly on October 14, 2017, in Tennessee.
In the year 2018, Musgraves released her fourth studio album titled Golden Hour. Golden Hour was nominated in four categories at the Grammy Awards that year and won in all four categories, including Album of the Year and Best Country Album. Golden Hour was supported by the “Oh, What a World Tour”, her fourth headlining tour.
In February 2019, Musgraves went viral for her tribute to late star Selena.
