Sonequa Martin-Green Returns To TV Tonight On 'Star Trek: Discovery'

Sonequa Martin-Green, born on March 21, 1985, Russellville, Alabama, is an American actress who is best known for her television role as Sasha Williams on The Walking Dead and the lead role of Michael Burnham in the CBS fantasy television series Star Trek: Discovery.
Martin-Green, who was born and raised in Alabama, graduated with a degree in theater studies from the University of Alabama in 2007. Following college, Martin-Green moved to New York City, where she lived for five years before eventually moving to Los Angeles with her husband.
After appearing in various short films from 2005 to 2007, Martin-Green’s acting career kicked off in earnest when she was cast as Kiana Richmond in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Following her appearance in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Martin-Green went on to be cast in various television series such as Army Wives, The Good Wife, Gossip Girl, Once Upon a Time, New Girl, and NYC 22, before finally landing her breakthrough role on The Walking Dead in 2012. Martin-Green went on to star on The Walking Dead from 2012 to 2017.
