Piper Perabo — that actress you’ve never heard of but probably recognize if you had a girlfriend within the last decade who made you watch Coyote Ugly — was arrested at Brett Kanavaugh’s Supreme Court nomination hearing on Tuesday, September 4.
Kavanaugh, a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, was nominated to become an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States by President Trump.
Following the incident, Perabo took to Twitter to say:
“I was just arrested for civil disobedience in the Kavanaugh hearings.
Many citizens before me have fought for the equal rights of women. I can’t be silent when someone is nominated to the Supreme Court who would take our equal rights away.”
Perabo was one of many protesters to interrupt Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing, as there were roughly 63 interruptions before the lunch break.

In addition to her starring role in Coyote Ugly, Perabo also appeared in films such as Cheaper by the Dozen(2003), Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005), The Prestige (2006), and Looper (2012). She is also best known for starring as CIA Agent Annie Walker in the USA Network spy drama series Covert Affairs. Covert Affairs ran for five seasons between 2010 and 2014 and earned Perabo a Golden Globe nomination.
Her most recent acting appearance will be in 2018’s Angel Has Fallen — the sequel to Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen. The movie is directed by Ric Roman Waugh and stars Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Nick Nolte, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Perabo.
